Biodegradable & Recyclable
OLA Bamboo dental floss is biodegradable and the packaging is recyclable. The traditional floss goes into the garbage and their plastic containers pollute for years and years.
In contrast, our OLA Bamboo biodegradable dental floss is made from mulberry floss, so there is no plastic in this natural product. The waxing is also natural. It is candelilla wax, which comes from a shrub. This vegan wax is often used in cosmetics and the pharmaceutical industry. The mint taste is due to the addition of mint essential oil. Moreover, the floss container is a small recyclable cardboard box; only the miniature metal knife should be put in the garbage.
A good alternative
This is an excellent alternative to traditional dental floss which gets thrown into the garbage and whose plastic containers pollute for years and years.
OLA Bamboo floss is biodegradable; however, it does not fall within the strict rules for compost. It takes a little longer to decay than is required by municipal compost. Therefore, it must be placed in the trash where it will eventually disintegrate because it is 100% natural floss containing no plastic.
The small cardboard box goes in the recycling bin once the floss has been used.

The OLA Bamboo family is made up of three young Canadian entrepreneurs—Jean-Philippe Bergeron, Simon-Pier Ouellet, and Vicky Jodry—who wanted to make a difference for the planet. Their mission is to help reduce plastic waste by offering eco-friendly products that are affordable and easy to use.
The OLA Bamboo family extends well beyond its three founders. About thirty people are involved in our young company—and that also means thirty jobs—whether it’s the teams of representatives on the road, about a dozen in Quebec and just as many throughout the rest of Canada, or the Re-Source Intégration and Pivot Centre-du-Québec teams who assemble certain products and much more.
When you purchase an OLA Bamboo’s eco products, you are helping Compensation CO2 Québec plant trees. Reducing our carbon footprint and benefitting the health of our beautiful planet is crucial for Ola Bamboo. Since the beginning of this venture, over 3,000 trees have been planted in Notre-Dame-des-Bois and Stratford, Quebec—thanks to you!
