Cinnamon Apple Tart

In this season surrounded by warm colours and scents, delight yourself with our Apple and Cinnamon Tart. A combination of autumn flavours enclosed in a fragrant pastry shell.



  • 250g flour
  • 125g cold butter
  • 100gr icing sugar
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tsp of ground cinnamon
  • pinch of salt


  • 4-5 apples, peeled and thinly sliced 
  • juice of half lemon
  • 3 tbsp of brown sugar
  • 2 tsp of ground cinnamon



  • For the Pastry: In a bowl, mix flour, icing sugar, cinnamon and salt. Add butter cut in small cubes and mix quickly with your hands until it reaches a crumbly consistency.
  • Add the egg and knead the dough until it's smooth and soft.
  • Wrap the dough with our Home Compostable Cling wrap and let it rest in the fridge for 30 minutes.
  • For the filling: In a bowl, mix apple slices with lemon juice, brown sugar and cinnamon. Let them rest for 15-20 minutes. 
  • Preheat your oven to 180°C and line a cake pan with our Rotofresh Compostable Baking Paper.
  • Dust your bench with some flour and roll out the pastry to a round shape of approximately 0.5 cm thickness. Transfer the pastry to the pan, it will need to be slightly bigger than it.
  • Keep aside some pastry to close your tart with ribbons or leaves shaped decorations.
  • Place your apple slices on the pastry and pour all the remaining juices all over.
  • Fold the pastry borders in and decorate your tart as you like.
  • Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 35-40 minutes or until the pastry is golden in colour.
  • Let it rest before serving.

The baking paper will help you removing your tart from the pan.. enjoy this delicious autumnal temptation! 🍏🍎🍂
